Something from me

Hey everyone,

You may or may not have noticed that The Thinking Log hasn’t found its way into your inbox in the last couple weeks.

Simply put, I’ve had to dedicate a lot of time to another project I’m working on right now called Koomba. For context, Koomba was borne out of the same research I did for The Thinking Log but grew into a preventative mental health company for athletes. We connect student athletes to online group support sessions moderated by licensed therapists and sports psychologists covering topics like nutrition, performance anxiety, leadership and identity outside of sport to name a few. Long term, Koomba’s mission is to change how students from diverse backgrounds and identities connect with one another, ushering in new modes of social connection for young people rooted in vulnerability, empathy, and empowerment. If you know a current student athlete or someone involved in the world of college athletics, we’d love to speak with them for feedback!

In addition to taking some time to focus on Koomba, I also felt as though The Thinking Log needed some time to breathe. Believe it or not, it can be taxing to share some of my more intimate thoughts on a weekly basis and admittedly, it felt like a good time to press pause for a bit. Sometimes it’s okay not to look in the mirror all the time 🙂

That said, I am proud of what this space represents and have big plans for The Log! Big plans! I will continue to build ideas around this lovely community and how best to grow in the coming weeks/months and welcome any and all thoughts via response to this email or DM on LinkedIn/Twitter. While I’m taking a break from The Log, I certainly encourage fellow Thinking Loggers to maintain a practice of self-discovery and helping to support and be supported by their friends and loved ones. That learning is what this is all about!

Thank you for all your kindness and participation thus far and look forward to taking a seat on The Log with you all again soon.

Cheers! 🪵
